# Refer friends with Refer & Earn

Share your referral link, so friends who buy a Lifetime plan through it get money off and you earn cash for each purchase. Here's how the link works, what you earn and how payouts work.

## How it works

Every Heropost login has its own referral code and link, ready to share.

- **Your friend opens your link** and buys a Lifetime plan. The discount is applied automatically when they pay.
- **You earn cash** for each Lifetime plan bought through your link.
- **It works on Lifetime plans only.** As the page puts it: "It works on every Lifetime plan." Monthly and yearly plans get no referral discount.
- **The link carries the discount.** There's no box in Heropost to type a referral code, so share the link, not only the code.

## Find your link

1. In the left menu, click **Refer & Earn** (the gift icon near the bottom). On a phone, open the menu at the top of the screen first.
2. Press **Copy link** under **Share link**. The button reads **Copied ✓** for a moment.
3. Paste the link wherever you like: a message, an email, a post.

- **Your code** is "REF-" plus your first name in capitals, for example REF-ANNA (or REF-HERO if there's no usable first name, with a number added if the code is taken). It's created for you and can't be changed. **Copy code** copies it.
- **Your link** looks like app.heropost.io/checkout?ref=REF-ANNA.
- **The page needs access to Heropost:** an active plan, a trial, or a team you belong to. Without one, Heropost opens the plans page instead.

## What your friend does

1. They open your link. If they're signed out, they log in or create a Heropost account.
2. They buy a Lifetime plan **in the same browser**. The discount is added automatically.

- **Same browser.** The link saves your code in the browser where it's opened. If your friend opens it on their phone but buys on a computer, they need to open the link on the computer too.
- **They can buy later.** If they sign up first, the code stays saved in that browser for when they buy.
- **Your own link doesn't give you a discount.**

## What you earn

From the page's **What you earn per plan**:

There's no limit on how many friends you refer. You earn once per referred customer.

## Getting paid

The page shows three numbers:

- **Successful referrals:** purchases made through your link.
- **Earned so far:** your total, including amounts not paid out yet. "Paid weekly — unlocks at 2 referrals".
- **Top payout per referral:** the most one referral can earn, $80.

How payouts work, from the page: "Payouts are processed weekly. A referral becomes eligible 7 days after your friend's purchase, and your first payout unlocks once you have 2 successful referrals. You'll then receive an email to choose your reward: prepaid Visa, Amazon gift card, or 2,500+ other options."

A new referral shows up after your friend's payment goes through. Open the page again to see it.

## If it doesn't work

## Questions

**My friend bought without using my link. Can it still count?**

From the page: "Possibly. Reach out to support with your code and your friend's purchase details, and we'll do our best to credit it."


**Can I change my referral code?**

No. Codes are created from your first name and can't be changed.


**Can my friend type my code at checkout?**

No. Heropost has no box for referral codes. Send them your link: the discount comes through it.


**Does it work for the monthly AI plans?**

No. Referral discounts and earnings apply to Lifetime plans only.


**Can I use my own link?**

No. Your own code gives you no discount.
