# Hero_Agent: your AI social media manager

Hero_Agent is the chat on Home: ask it to plan, write and schedule posts, make pictures, report on your results and draft replies. It saves drafts on its own and asks before anything goes out.

**Where:** **Home**, the first item in the left menu. It's the page Heropost opens on.

## How it works

Hero_Agent is the AI built into Heropost. You tell it what you want in plain words, and it works inside the workspace you have open: it reads your accounts, calendar, Media Library, Social Inbox and results, and it uses the same tools you do to save, schedule and publish posts.

It saves drafts without asking. Before it schedules, publishes, sends an inbox reply or deletes anything, it shows a **Waiting for your approval** card, and nothing happens until you press **Approve**. The line under the chat box says so: "Hero_Agent acts only with your approval".

## What you can ask for

## Get started

The first time the workspace owner or an Admin opens Home, Hero_Agent asks **How do you want to work with me?**

1. Choose **Create together**.
2. Tick what you want to make first, for example **Social posts**, then press **Continue**.
3. Hero_Agent suggests where to start. **Bring in your brand from your website** reads your site and sets up your brand kit in about a minute.

**Skip for now** takes you straight to the chat. Team members see a shorter welcome, **What do you want to make first?**, with **Continue** and **Skip for now**.

## What asks for your approval

The approval card shows what will happen, the cost (**free** or **1 action**), the details such as dates and times, and up to three post previews. Press **Approve** to go ahead or **Deny** to cancel.

**Answer the card before you type again.** Sending a new message while a card is waiting cancels it, and you'll need to ask again.
## Conversations

- **Start a new one** for each new task: the clock icon at the top left (**Conversation history**) opens **Conversations**, and **＋** starts a new conversation.
- **Find an old one** in **Conversations**, grouped **Today**, **Yesterday**, **This week** and **Earlier**, or type in **Search conversations**.
- **Delete one** with the bin icon next to it. It's deleted straight away, with no confirmation, and can't be undone.
- **They're private.** Only you see your conversations, and each workspace has its own list. Teammates, including the workspace owner, can't see them.
- **Long conversations:** Hero_Agent works from the most recent part of a conversation, about the last 40 messages. Facts you've saved and your brand voice are always in view.
- **Leave and come back:** an answer keeps going while you open another page, for example **Open in editor**. Come back to Home within two minutes and the conversation is still open. Switching workspace, starting or opening another conversation, pressing **Stop** or closing the tab ends an answer that's still running.
- **Stop:** while Hero_Agent works, the send arrow turns into **Stop**. What it already wrote stays.
- **← Back to home** returns to the start screen. The conversation stays in your history.

## Ways to talk to it

- **Type.** Enter sends; Shift+Enter starts a new line. A message can be up to 120,000 characters.
- **Speak.** The microphone shows where your browser supports dictation. On a computer, click it (**Dictate a message**). On a phone, hold it (**Hold to talk**).
- **Attach files.** Press the paperclip (**Attach media**) or drag files anywhere on Home: photos, videos, CSV or TSV files, and .md or .txt documents. Photos and videos go into your Media Library as soon as you add them.
- **Tap a suggestion.** Up to three follow-ups appear under the newest answer. Tapping one sends it.

## On a phone

- The line under the greeting shows your sources, saved facts and actions used. Tap it to open the **Workspace** sheet with the starters, **Workspace intelligence** and quick links.
- An approval card opens as a sheet. Swipe it away and the card stays in the chat with a **Review** button.
- From any page, tap **＋** in the bottom bar, then **Ask Hero_Agent**.
- To open Hero_Agent like an app, add it to your home screen. After the first answer, Heropost offers: "Install Hero_Agent — full screen, no browser bars, one tap from your Home Screen." On iPhone and iPad, use Share → **Add to Home Screen**.

## What it costs

Every plan, the free trial included, comes with 30 AI actions, 300 Hero_Agent messages and 3 connected AI tools a month, plus 10 Hero_Photo credits once. The Growth, Pro and Agency plans include more:

- **One action** is one post created or one inbox reply sent. Writing copy in the chat, editing, scheduling, publishing, reading and analytics are free.
- **Every message you send** counts as one chat message.
- **Pictures** use Hero_Photo credits, not actions.
- **The workspace owner's plan applies,** in every workspace they own. Allowances reset at the start of each calendar month (UTC).

## Who can use it

## Prefer ChatGPT or Claude?

The same tools work from ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor and other AI tools that support MCP, on the same accounts and the same monthly actions. Chat messages are only used on Home. See [Use Heropost from your AI tools](/docs/ai-tools/overview/).

## If it doesn't work

## Questions

**Will Hero_Agent post anything without asking me?**

No. It saves drafts on its own, but every schedule, publish, inbox reply and delete shows a **Waiting for your approval** card first, and nothing happens until you press **Approve**.


**Can my teammates read my conversations?**

No. Conversations are saved for each person in each workspace. The drafts, pictures and facts Hero_Agent saves are part of the workspace, so your team sees those as usual.


**Can I use Hero_Agent for several brands or clients?**

Yes. Hero_Agent works per workspace: create one workspace per brand, connect its accounts, then teach Hero_Agent about that business on its Home. The workspace owner's actions and photo credits are shared by all their workspaces.


**Can Heropost open on another page instead of Home?**

No. Heropost opens on Home, and there's no setting to change it. Everything else is in the left menu, and a bookmarked page, such as your calendar, opens directly.


**Is Hero_Agent the same as AI captions in the post editor?**

No. AI captions is the writing helper inside the post editor. It's unlimited on the plans sold today and uses no actions. See [AI captions, hashtags and rewriting](/docs/ai/ai-captions/).


**What can't Hero_Agent do?**
