# Use Hero_Photo presets

Presets are ready-made set-ups for product shots, try-ons, headshots, social and text graphics, seasonal posts, camera-move videos and photo edits. See what each one needs, what it costs and how to use it.

## How presets work

A preset is a ready-made set-up for one kind of shot: the scene, lighting, framing and, where needed, the text layout. Pick one instead of writing a description, add your product or a person if it needs one, fill in any text, then generate. Each card shows real samples: "Previews show exactly what each preset makes — we ran every one on our demo products and models."

There are three kinds:

- **AI presets** make new photos, graphics or videos. They use photo credits.
- **Layouts** (13 of them) place your own photos untouched and set your text in your brand fonts, colors and logo. They're made in your browser in about 2 seconds and are free.
- **Editing tools** (8) change a photo you pick.

## Use a preset

1. Open **Presets**.
2. Pick a category: **All**, **Staff picks**, **Product**, **Social**, **Headshots**, **Try-on**, **Typography**, **Seasonal**, **Camera moves** or **Editing tools**. Or type in **Search presets…**: it searches names, descriptions and who a preset is for, such as "realtors" or "churches".
3. Hover a card. **Preview** shows the samples full screen; camera moves play their clip.
4. Press **Use preset** (**Use on an image** for editing tools). Heropost sets it up on the left: "{preset} is set on the left — Generate when you’re ready".
5. If it needs a product or a person you haven't added, **Train a subject** opens on the right type. See [Train a subject](/docs/ai/hero-photo-subjects/).
6. Fill in the text fields. The preset renders your text exactly as you type it.
7. Check the price on the button, then press **Generate** (**Create** for layouts, **Make video** for camera moves).

[Screenshot: Quote Card set up on the left, with its Quote and Who said it fields and the Generate button with its price]

**The button shows what you'll pay.** A card's cost line describes its samples, for example "8 photos · 16 credits" on Studio Headshot. Your run follows **How many** (4 at first) unless the preset makes a set number, so check the price on the button before you press it.

## Camera moves (7)

Camera moves turn a still into a short video. The video model won't animate a photo with people in it, so use product and scene photos.

|---|---|---|---|
| Product Turntable ★ | "Your product rotating on its plinth — a seamless 5 s loop." | A saved product | 22 |

| Giant Product (FOOH) ★ | "A giant version of your product in a real-looking city scene." | A saved product | 22 |
| Dusk Timelapse | "Day to blue hour: the sky darkens and the lights come on." | A daytime photo of a building | 22 |

A 10-second clip doubles the video part: 40, or 42 where Hero_Photo first makes the frame.

## Editing tools (8)

Editing tools work on a photo you pick: from **Edit** on any result, or **Use on an image** here. Each makes one image.

| Preset | What it does | Credits |

| Reframe to Platform | "One image resized for every platform you post to." Runs in **Repurpose**. | 2 per size |
| Background Swap | "Keeps your subject exact and replaces the background." | 2 |
| Relight | "Change the light without a reshoot." | 2 |
| Remove Object | "Erase distractions and rebuild what was behind them." Say what to remove in the description box. | 2 |
| Upscale | Makes a sharper, larger 4K version. | 4 |

## Layouts: sizes and branding

Layouts use your **Format** choice:

| Format | Size |
|---|---|
| **Square 1:1** | 1080 × 1080 |
| **Feed 4:5** | 1080 × 1350 |
| **Story 9:16** | 1080 × 1920 |
| **Wide 16:9** | 1920 × 1080 |
| **Google 4:3** | 1600 × 1200 |

They use your brand kit's fonts, colors and primary logo, so set those up first: [Teach Hero_Agent your brand](/docs/ai/brand-kit-and-knowledge/). When it's done, Heropost says "{preset} is ready — it’s in your library".

## Presets from Hero_Agent and on a phone

- **Hero_Agent** can use AI presets that make one picture, such as Lifestyle Scene, Clean Packshot, Colour-Block Hero, Flat-Lay, Studio Headshot or New Keys Moment. Presets with text fields, videos, sets of several images and layouts are made in the studio. Asked for a layout, it answers "That preset is made in the browser — use it from the studio."
- **On a phone**, the **New photo** sheet offers six presets: Lifestyle Scene, Clean Packshot, In-Hand UGC, Colour-Block Hero, Studio Headshot and Personal Brand Lifestyle. The full catalog is in the studio on a computer or tablet.

## If it doesn't work

| What you see | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| "No presets match “{search}”." | Nothing matches your search. | Try another word, or browse a category. |
| "{preset} needs a product — add one first, then use the preset" | The preset puts your product in the picture. | Add the product in **Train a subject**, which opens for you. |
| "{preset} needs a person — train yourself or a model first" | The preset needs a person. | Add yourself or a model. |
| **Fill in “{field}”** under the button | A required text field is empty. | Fill it in. |
| "… is too long — keep it under {n} characters." | Too much text for that field. | Shorten it. |
| "Add at least one tip (one per line)." | Tips Carousel has no tips. | Type one tip per line. |
| "Say what to remove." | Remove Object needs to know what to erase. | Describe it in the description box. |
| "Pick the image to work on." | An editing tool has no photo. | Pick a photo, or start from **Edit** on a result. |
| "A photo could not be loaded — try picking it again." | A layout couldn't read your photo. | Pick the photo again. |
| "This browser can’t draw the layout." or "Couldn’t export the image." | Your browser couldn't build the layout. | Try again, or use another browser. |

## Questions

**Why is the price on the button different from the card?**

The card shows the cost of its samples. Your run follows **How many**, and some presets make a set number. The button always shows what this run costs, and that's what you pay.

**Do layouts really cost nothing?**

Yes. Layouts are drawn in your browser from your own photos, text and brand kit, with no AI, so they use no credits.

**Will a preset change my product?**

Product presets use your saved product photos as the reference, so your product looks like itself. Anything that must stay exactly the same, such as a logo or a finish, goes under **Keep exactly (optional)** when you save the product. Check each result before you post it.

**Can I use a preset with my own description?**

Yes. With a preset selected, the description box adds details. Layouts have nothing to describe: they use your photo and the text fields.
