# Find your way around Heropost

Every item in the left menu, the top bar and your account menu, what each one is for, and where to find settings such as your time zone, billing and team.

## The layout

Heropost has the same frame on every page:

- **The left menu** with every section of the app. Your name sits at the bottom.
- **The top bar** shows where you are, your **workspace name** (the workspace menu) and the notifications **bell**.
- **The support chat** is the round bubble at the bottom right.

On a phone or tablet the left menu moves behind the **☰** button and a bar of icons appears at the bottom. See [Use Heropost on a phone](/docs/getting-started/phones-and-browsers/).

## The left menu

- Clicking **Content**, **Calendar** or **Team** opens Create Post, the calendar or My Approvals, and shows the sub-pages underneath. The small arrow opens or closes the list without leaving the page.
- Everyone sees every menu item. What you can do on each page depends on your role and your plan.
- **Make the menu narrower** with **Minimize sidebar** at the bottom; it shows icons only, with each name on hover. Heropost remembers your choice in this browser. Hero_Photo always opens with the menu narrow, to give the studio room.
- **Light** and **Dark** at the bottom switch the theme. Dark is the default; your choice is saved in this browser.
- Depending on your plan, an upgrade card may sit above your name.

## Your account menu

Click **your name** at the bottom of the left menu:

| **Profile settings** | Your name, email, photo and password. See [Profile settings](/docs/account/profile/). |
| **Billing** | Your plan, usage, add-ons, invoices and canceling. See [Your Billing page](/docs/billing/billing-page/). |
| **Logout** | Signs you out straight away. |

## The top bar

**Where you are.** The top left shows the section and page, for example "Calendar / Monthly". On Content and Calendar pages, the arrow next to the page name switches between sister pages: **Create Post**, **Drafts** and **Posting Errors**, or **Feed**, **Grid Planner** and **Calendar**.

**The workspace menu.** Click your workspace's name and picture:

|---|---|
| **Settings** | Rename the workspace, change its **Time Zone**, notes and picture, or delete it. |
| **Accounts** | The Social Accounts page: connect, reconnect and remove social accounts. |
| **Members** | The team in this workspace. |
| **Watermark** | Stamp your logo on photos for the whole workspace. |
| **My Workspaces** | Switch to another workspace. A search box appears when you have more than five. |
| **New Workspace** | Create a workspace. |
| **Manage Workspaces** | All your workspaces as cards. |

**Settings**, **Accounts**, **Members** and **Watermark** appear only for the workspace owner.

Switching workspace changes the accounts, posts, calendar and Hero_Agent conversations you see. Heropost confirms with "You changed workspace". See [Workspaces](/docs/social-accounts/workspaces/).

**The bell.** A dot means something new. The panel has two tabs: **Posts** (posts published or failed, sent to the workspace owner) and **Team** (approval requests and results, new members, comments). **Clear All** empties the tab you're on. See [Notifications](/docs/team/notifications/).

## Getting help in the app

- **The support bubble** (bottom right) opens **Heropost Support**. Ask a question in your own words: you get an instant answer, or the team replies by email. The chat is text only.
- **Ideas and Bugs** sends a bug report or an idea straight to the Heropost team, with up to 3 screenshots or videos.
- **Hero_Agent** on Home can also pass a problem to the team for you; they reply by email.

## Questions

**Can I choose a different start page than Home?**

No. Home is always the start page. But if you open a bookmarked page, such as the calendar (app.heropost.io/schedules/monthly), Heropost opens it, and after signing in you return to the page you asked for.


**I'm an Admin. Why don't I see Accounts in the workspace menu?**

**Settings**, **Accounts**, **Members** and **Watermark** in the workspace menu are shown to the workspace owner only. Admins can open the Social Accounts page at app.heropost.io/social-accounts.


**Where did the old dashboard go?**

Home replaced it. The shortcuts under Hero_Agent (**Add a social account**, **Create a post**, **Open calendar**, **Media library**, **Analytics**, **Invite your team**) take you to the same places.


**Why do I see Team pages if I work alone?**

The Team menu is shown to everyone. Inviting people and approvals depend on your plan: see [Team seats on each plan](/docs/team/seats/).
