# Use Heropost on a phone, and browser tips

There's no app to download: Heropost runs in your phone's browser with a mobile layout, and you can add it to your Home Screen. Here's where everything is on a phone, and the browser settings that keep things working.

## There's no app to download

Heropost has no App Store or Google Play app. Open **app.heropost.io** in your phone's browser: Heropost switches to a mobile layout on phones and tablets. Add it to your Home Screen and it opens full screen, like an app.

**iPhone or iPad (Safari):**

1. Open app.heropost.io in Safari and sign in.
2. Tap the **Share** icon, then **Add to Home Screen**.
3. Tap **Add**. Heropost's icon appears on your Home Screen.

Safari also shows a reminder at the top: "Install Heropost — tap the Share icon, then **Add to Home Screen**, for the full-screen app." Tap **×** to hide it for good.

**Android (Chrome):** open the browser menu (**⋮**), then **Add to Home screen** or **Install app**. After your first answer from Hero_Agent, Heropost may offer an **Install** button itself.

## Find your way on a phone

A bar of icons sits at the bottom of every page:

| Icon | Opens |
|---|---|
| House | **Home**, with Hero_Agent |
| Calendar | The calendar |
| **＋** (middle) | On a phone: a **Create** sheet with **New post**, **New photo** (Hero_Photo) and **Ask Hero_Agent**. On a tablet: the post editor. |
| Tray | The **Social Inbox** |
| Your workspace's picture | Your workspace: accounts, team, settings and tools |

Everything else is in the menu: tap **☰** at the top left. It holds the full left menu, including **Content** (Drafts, Posting Errors), **Calendar → Feed** and **Grid**, **Analytics**, **Team**, **Refer & Earn**, **Ideas and Bugs** and the **Light** / **Dark** switch. The bell at the top right shows your notifications.

## Your workspace on a phone

Tap your workspace's picture in the bottom bar:

- **Switch workspace:** tap the workspace name.
- **Settings**, **Members** and **Invite** sit under the name. **Invite** adds a team member; to let a client connect their accounts, use **Invite profile** on the accounts page.
- **Social accounts:** tap the card to open **Manage accounts**, then **＋ Connect an account** and **＋ Add profile**. See [Connect a social account](/docs/social-accounts/connect-an-account/).
- **Tools** tab: **Hero_Photo**, **Media Library**, **Caption Library**, **Automations**, **Post Groups** and **Posting Errors**.

## Doing things on a phone

| To… | On a phone |
|---|---|
| Write and schedule a post | **＋ → New post** opens the post editor, on your most recent draft if you have one. The editor has three steps: **Post to** (accounts), **Content** (text, media, date) and **Review** (preview and the **Schedule All** or **Publish All** button). Move between them with **Next →** and **← Back**. To start a fresh post, tap **Select Post Type** and pick a type. |
| Ask Hero_Agent | The house icon, or **＋ → Ask Hero_Agent**. Tap the line under the greeting to open the **Workspace** sheet with the starters and your allowance. Hold the microphone to talk. |
| Approve something Hero_Agent asks | The approval opens as a sheet with **Approve** and **Deny**. If you swipe it away, tap **Review** on the card in the chat. |
| Check the calendar | The calendar icon. Posts are listed day by day; switch with **Month**, **Week** and **Day**, and tap a post to open it. |
| Answer comments and messages | The tray icon (**Social Inbox**). |
| Make a photo | **＋ → New photo**. |
| Get help | The support bubble at the bottom right of any page except Home. |

## What works best on a computer

Most of Heropost works the same on a phone. A few things are only on the larger layout:

- **Dragging posts to another day** on the calendar, and the calendar's account selector.
- **Uploading to the Media Library.** On a phone, the library is for browsing ("Uploads you add on desktop show up here."). You can still add photos to a post in the editor, or attach them in Hero_Agent's chat.
- **The calendar's preview window** and its **⋮** menus. On a phone, tap a post to open it in the editor.

## Signing in on a phone

**Inside Instagram or Facebook?** If you open a Heropost link from the Instagram, Facebook or Messenger app, it opens in that app's built-in browser, and Google sign-in doesn't work there. The **Continue with Google** button is hidden, and a Google link shows: "Google sign-in doesn't work inside the Instagram or Facebook app. Copy the link and open it in Safari or Chrome, or continue with Facebook or your email."

1. Tap **Copy link**.
2. Open Safari or Chrome and paste the link.
3. Sign in with Google there.

Or choose **Continue with Facebook**, or sign up with your email. More: [Sign in, stay signed in, sign out](/docs/account/sign-in/).

## Browser tips

- **Allow pop-ups for app.heropost.io.** Networks' sign-in windows open as pop-ups, and the billing portal opens in a new tab.
- **Ad blockers and tracking protection can stop Facebook's sign-in.** Switch them off for Heropost when you connect Facebook or Instagram.
- **Times follow the workspace, not your device.** Scheduled times are in the workspace's time zone. See [Workspaces](/docs/social-accounts/workspaces/).
- **Your browser's language sets the clock and the week.** Heropost shows a 12- or 24-hour clock, and starts the week on Sunday or Monday, the way your browser's language does.
- **Each browser keeps its own settings.** The theme (Dark by default), the menu width and the support chat history are saved in that browser only.
- **Voice input** in Hero_Agent appears only in browsers that support speech recognition.

## If it doesn't work

| What you see | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| "Google sign-in doesn't work inside the Instagram or Facebook app. Copy the link and open it in Safari or Chrome, or continue with Facebook or your email." | You opened the link in Instagram's or Facebook's built-in browser. | Tap **Copy link** and open it in Safari or Chrome. |
| "Facebook's sign-in could not open because Facebook's script did not load in this browser. If you use an ad blocker or tracking protection, switch it off for Heropost, then reload the page and try again." | A blocker stopped Facebook's sign-in. | Switch it off for app.heropost.io, reload, and try again. A private window without extensions is a quick test. |
| "Authentication cancelled" | A network's sign-in pop-up was closed or blocked. | Allow pop-ups for app.heropost.io and try again. |
| "We're having trouble reaching Heropost right now. Check your connection and try again." | Your device lost its connection. | Check Wi-Fi or mobile data, then try again. |
| "In order for this website to function correctly, please prevent cross-site tracking of your cookies. …" with **I understand** | Safari shows this note on the sign-in pages. | Tap **I understand** to hide it. If you can't stay signed in on Safari, follow the steps in the note, or use another browser. |
| "You need to enable JavaScript to run this app." | JavaScript is off in this browser. | Turn JavaScript on in your browser's settings. |
| No support bubble on Home | On phones, Home hides it to make room for Hero_Agent. | Open any other page, such as the calendar, to reach the support chat. |

## Questions

**Is there a Heropost app for iPhone or Android?**

No. Heropost runs in your phone's browser, and you can add it to your Home Screen so it opens full screen like an app.

**Can I post photos from my phone's camera roll?**

Yes. In the post editor, add media on the **Content** step and choose photos from your phone. You can also attach photos in Hero_Agent's chat with the paperclip.

**Can I use Heropost on an iPad?**

Yes. iPads and other tablets get the same mobile layout as phones, with the bottom bar. The **＋** button opens the post editor directly.

**Why does my phone show a different time than my computer?**

Scheduled times are always in the workspace's time zone. If your phone's clock format differs (12- or 24-hour), that comes from your browser's language settings.
