# Add a watermark to your images

Stamp your logo on every photo Heropost publishes, for a whole workspace or for one account. Set the position, size and transparency once, and Heropost adds it each time a post goes out.

## How watermarks work

A watermark is an image, usually your logo, that Heropost places on your photos when it publishes them. You can set one at two levels:

- **Workspace watermark:** used for every account in the workspace.
- **Account watermark:** used for one account instead of the workspace watermark.

Heropost adds the watermark at the moment a post is published. Your original photo isn't changed, and the post editor's preview shows it without the watermark. It's added to every post with photos that goes out to that account, including posts from Hero_Agent, automations and AI tools. There's no switch to leave it off a single post.

## Which posts get a watermark

| Content | Watermarked |
|---|---|
| Photos on Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, Threads, Bluesky, Pinterest, Google Business Profile, Reddit and Telegram | Yes |
| GIFs | No |
| Videos | No |
| YouTube and TikTok accounts | No (these networks take video only) |

## Add a workspace watermark

1. Switch to the workspace.
2. Click your **workspace name** at the top of Heropost, then **Watermark**. **Workspace Watermark** opens with a sample photo.
3. Press **Upload** and choose your logo: a PNG or JPG, up to 10 MB.
4. Click one of the nine position buttons to place it, from top-left to bottom-right.
5. Drag **Size:** and **Transparency:** until the preview looks right.
6. Press **Save**. Heropost shows **Watermark saved**.

**Upload your own image before you press Save.** The window opens with Heropost's sample watermark. If you press **Save** without uploading, that sample is saved as your watermark.

Only the owner of the workspace sees **Watermark** in the workspace menu.

## Add a watermark to one account

1. Click your **workspace name** at the top of Heropost, then **Accounts**.
2. Open the **⋮** menu on the account's card and choose **Watermark**.
3. In **Account Watermark**, upload your image, set the position, **Size:** and **Transparency:**, and press **Save**.

The account watermark replaces the workspace watermark for that account. **Account Watermark** shows only the account's own watermark, not the workspace one. YouTube and TikTok accounts don't have a **Watermark** option.

Tip: to use a different logo for each client, give each client a workspace with its own workspace watermark.

## The settings

| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Position | Nine spots: the corners, the middle of each edge, and the center. |
| **Size:** | How big the watermark is, from 0 to 100. |
| **Transparency:** | How see-through it is, from 0 (solid) to 100 (invisible). |

Until you save one, the window shows these defaults: bottom-left, size 30, transparency 30. On a phone, the window opens full-screen with **Cancel** and **Save** at the bottom.

A PNG with a transparent background usually looks best, because only your logo shows on the photo.

## Change or remove a watermark

To change it, open the same window, adjust it and press **Save**.

To remove it:

1. Open **Workspace Watermark** or **Account Watermark**.
2. Press **Delete**. It's grayed out if no watermark is saved.
3. Confirm with **Delete** in **Delete Watermark?**. Heropost shows **Watermark deleted**.

Removing or adding back social accounts doesn't remove the workspace watermark. Delete it here.

## Who can change watermarks

| Action | Who |
|---|---|
| Open **Workspace Watermark** from the workspace menu | The workspace owner |
| Save an account watermark | Any team member except Viewers |
| Delete a watermark | The workspace owner or an Admin |

## If it doesn't work

| What you see | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| "Wrong file format. Please upload PNG or JPG" | The file isn't a PNG or JPG. | Save your logo as PNG or JPG. |
| "Size limit: 10MB maximum" | The file is larger than 10 MB. | Use a smaller file. |
| The watermark isn't on a published post | The post had only videos or GIFs, or went to a YouTube or TikTok account. | Nothing to fix: only photos get a watermark. |
| A different watermark appears on one account | That account has its own account watermark. | Change or delete it in **Account Watermark**. |
| A watermark appears on every photo and you don't want it | The workspace has a watermark. | The owner opens **Workspace Watermark** and presses **Delete**. |
| The watermark window doesn't open | Its settings didn't load. | Reload the page and try again. |

## Questions

**Can I turn the watermark off for one post?**

No. Every photo published to that account gets it. To skip it, delete the watermark before the post goes out, or use an account watermark only on the accounts that need one.

**Why can't I see the watermark in the post preview?**

Heropost adds it when the post is published, so the editor shows your photo as you uploaded it. Check the published post on the network.

**Does the watermark change the photos in my Media Library?**

No. It's added to the copy Heropost sends to the network.

**Can I watermark videos?**

No. Watermarks are added to photos only.
