# The Posting Errors page

Posting Errors lists every post and first comment that failed in the past month, with the reason. Open the post from there, fix the cause and send the failed part again with Duplicate Failed.

## What Posting Errors is

When a post or a first comment fails to publish, Heropost records the reason the network gave, or its own explanation. **Posting Errors** collects them in one list, so you can see what failed, where, and why.

Heropost doesn't send failed posts again on its own. Fix the cause, then send the failed part again (see below).

## Open Posting Errors

- **On a computer:** in the left menu, open **Content → Posting Errors**. You can also switch to it from **Create Post** or **Drafts** with the arrow next to the page name at the top.
- **On a phone:** tap your workspace's logo in the bottom bar, then **Tools → Posting Errors**.

The page reads **Posting Errors** — "Information about recently failed posts and comments". When nothing has failed, it says "No posting errors — everything is publishing cleanly."

## What each entry shows

- **The post's title.** Click it to open the post.
- **The date and time** the post was due, in your workspace's time zone.
- **What failed:** "Failed to create {network} post", or "Failed to create a comment to {network} post" when only the first comment failed.
- **Account:** the social account it was going to.
- **Workspace:** the workspace the post is in.
- **The reason,** word for word. Look it up in the [error index](/docs/troubleshooting/error-index/), or paste it into the docs search.

The list covers the past month, newest first, for the social accounts in the workspaces you own.

## Send a failed post again

1. Fix the cause first: for example reconnect the account, buy X credits or shorten the text. The [error index](/docs/troubleshooting/error-index/) tells you what each reason needs.
2. On **Posting Errors**, click the post's title. The post opens in the editor.
3. Open the **⋮** menu next to the post's date at the top of the editor and choose **Duplicate Failed**. A new draft opens with only the networks that failed.
4. Check the draft, set a date and press **Schedule All**, or press **Publish All** to post now.

[Screenshot: The editor's ⋮ menu with Repost Settings, Duplicate, Duplicate Failed and Delete]

- **Duplicate** copies the whole post, every network, as a new draft. Use it to send everything again.
- The same **Duplicate Failed** option is in the **⋮** menu on the post in the calendar.
- A post that has published can't be edited in Heropost; that's why you send a copy.

## When only the first comment failed

The post itself published; only the first comment didn't go out. Add the comment on the network yourself. To avoid it next time, check the account still has every permission Heropost asked for (reconnect if unsure).

## Where else you'll see failures

- **In the post editor,** hover the account on a failed post to see the reason. For X and paused accounts, the editor shows a plainer explanation than the raw message, for example "{account} reached the daily X posting limit. Posting will resume tomorrow."
- **In the calendar,** posts with failures offer **Duplicate Failed** in their **⋮** menu.

## Most common reasons

| Reason starts with | What to do |
|---|---|
| "Facebook is temporarily limiting how often this account can post." (also Instagram, Threads) | Wait until the time shown, then send it again. See [When a network limits an account](/docs/troubleshooting/network-holds/). |
| "You have no X posting credits left." | Buy an X credit pack, then send it again. See [X credits](/docs/billing/x-credits/). |
| "This account is paused after repeated failed posts." | Reconnect the account. See [Reconnect an account](/docs/social-accounts/reconnect/). |
| "LinkedIn error. The token used in the request has expired" | Reconnect the LinkedIn account. |
| "The TikTok connection for this account has expired." or "The Reddit connection for this account has expired." | Reconnect the account. |
| "Error validating access token" (Facebook or Instagram) | Reconnect the Page, then each Instagram account linked to it. |
| "Unable to post because …" | Shown when you schedule: the post is missing something that network needs. |

All the others: [Every error message, explained](/docs/troubleshooting/error-index/).

## Questions

**Will Heropost retry a failed post?**

No. Fix the cause, then use **Duplicate Failed** to send the failed part again.

**My post isn't on Posting Errors, but it didn't go out.**

It probably never left Heropost: it's still a draft, waiting for approval, or older than a month. Work through [A post didn't publish: a checklist](/docs/troubleshooting/post-didnt-publish/).

**I'm a team member and the page is empty.**

Posting Errors lists failures on the social accounts in the workspaces you own. In someone else's workspace, open the post from the calendar and hover the account to see the reason, or ask the workspace owner, who sees it on their Posting Errors page.

**I reconnected the account. Will the failed posts go out now?**

No. Reconnecting fixes future posts. Send the failed ones again with **Duplicate Failed**.
