These prompts work in any connected AI tool: ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, VS Code, n8n and the rest. Replace the parts in brackets. Your AI tool picks the Heropost tools; you don't need to name them.
How to ask#
- Say "Use Heropost" when you want something saved. Asked loosely, some tools, ChatGPT especially, write the post in the chat and save nothing.
- Ask for drafts first, then schedule. Review the drafts in Heropost, then ask the tool to schedule them.
- Name the accounts or networks: "for our Instagram and Facebook". Not sure of the names? Ask "Show my Heropost accounts" first.
- Give a date and time: "Friday at 9am". Heropost uses the workspace's time zone unless you say otherwise.
- Ask for one batch when you need many posts. One request can save up to 25 drafts and schedule up to 50.
- Ask what it will use before a big job: "Tell me how many actions this will use before you save anything."
- Check the result. Ask "Show me the drafts you saved", or open Activity in Heropost and look for create post · 1 action.

One post sent to several accounts is one action. Different text for each network means separate posts, one action each.
Schedule and publish#
These need Publish and schedule switched on for the tool (it's on for new connections).

If your workspace requires approval, the tool sends posts for approval instead of scheduling them. You approve them in Team → My Approvals.

- Repurpose a long piece: "Here's our newsletter. Turn it into 4 LinkedIn posts for the next 2 weeks, Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8am, and save them as drafts in Heropost."
- Bulk from a spreadsheet: "Use Heropost to create a draft for each row of this CSV. Column A is the caption, B the date, C the image link. Then list any rows that failed and why."

Questions#
The AI wrote my posts but nothing is in Heropost. Why?
It kept the text in the chat. Say "Use Heropost to save those as drafts", then check Activity for create post · 1 action. Drafts are under Content → Drafts.
Does my AI tool's thinking or writing use actions?
No. Only creating a post in Heropost and sending an inbox reply use actions. Writing, reading and reports are free. Your AI tool's own plan and usage limits are separate.
Can I ask for 100 posts at once?
Yes, but your AI tool saves them in batches of up to 25, and that's 100 actions. Check your allowance first with "How many AI actions have I used this month?". Very long requests can also run into your AI tool's own limits, so split big jobs into a few requests.
