How presets work#

A preset is a ready-made set-up for one kind of shot: the scene, lighting, framing and, where needed, the text layout. Pick one instead of writing a description, add your product or a person if it needs one, fill in any text, then generate. Each card shows real samples: "Previews show exactly what each preset makes — we ran every one on our demo products and models."

There are three kinds:

  • AI presets make new photos, graphics or videos. They use photo credits.
  • Layouts (13 of them) place your own photos untouched and set your text in your brand fonts, colors and logo. They're made in your browser in about 2 seconds and are free.
  • Editing tools (8) change a photo you pick.

Use a preset#

  1. Open Presets.
  2. Pick a category: All, Staff picks, Product, Social, Headshots, Try-on, Typography, Seasonal, Camera moves or Editing tools. Or type in Search presets…: it searches names, descriptions and who a preset is for, such as "realtors" or "churches".
  3. Hover a card. Preview shows the samples full screen; camera moves play their clip.
  4. Press Use preset (Use on an image for editing tools). Heropost sets it up on the left: "{preset} is set on the left — Generate when you’re ready".
  5. If it needs a product or a person you haven't added, Train a subject opens on the right type. See Train a subject.
  6. Fill in the text fields. The preset renders your text exactly as you type it.
  7. Check the price on the button, then press Generate (Create for layouts, Make video for camera moves).

The button shows what you'll pay. A card's cost line describes its samples, for example "8 photos · 16 credits" on Studio Headshot. Your run follows How many (4 at first) unless the preset makes a set number, so check the price on the button before you press it.

They use your brand kit's fonts, colors and primary logo, so set those up first: Teach Hero_Agent your brand. When it's done, Heropost says "{preset} is ready — it’s in your library".

Presets from Hero_Agent and on a phone#

  • Hero_Agent can use AI presets that make one picture, such as Lifestyle Scene, Clean Packshot, Colour-Block Hero, Flat-Lay, Studio Headshot or New Keys Moment. Presets with text fields, videos, sets of several images and layouts are made in the studio. Asked for a layout, it answers "That preset is made in the browser — use it from the studio."
  • On a phone, the New photo sheet offers six presets: Lifestyle Scene, Clean Packshot, In-Hand UGC, Colour-Block Hero, Studio Headshot and Personal Brand Lifestyle. The full catalog is in the studio on a computer or tablet.

Questions#

Why is the price on the button different from the card?

The card shows the cost of its samples. Your run follows How many, and some presets make a set number. The button always shows what this run costs, and that's what you pay.

Do layouts really cost nothing?

Yes. Layouts are drawn in your browser from your own photos, text and brand kit, with no AI, so they use no credits.

Will a preset change my product?

Product presets use your saved product photos as the reference, so your product looks like itself. Anything that must stay exactly the same, such as a logo or a finish, goes under Keep exactly (optional) when you save the product. Check each result before you post it.

Can I use a preset with my own description?

Yes. With a preset selected, the description box adds details. Layouts have nothing to describe: they use your photo and the text fields.
