How it works#
Every podcast on Apple Podcasts has a public feed. Paste your show's Apple Podcasts link, and Heropost uses the ID number in it to find the feed. Each new episode becomes an item you can post, or that Heropost posts for you. There's no login.
The audio isn't attached to posts. Posts share the episode's artwork, text and link.
Set it up#
- Find your show on Apple Podcasts, in the app or at podcasts.apple.com.
- Press Share and copy the link. It looks like
https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/your-show/id123456789. - In Heropost, click Automations in the left menu, then Create Automation.
- On the Podcast card, press Add Automation.
- Paste the link in Apple Podcasts Link and press Save. Heropost shows "Podcast automation created! Your items are being imported and will appear shortly."
- Press Settings on the new automation, select your accounts, choose Read from Source or Publish Immediately, and press Save.
What each item contains#

Settings that work well#
- Preferred Post Type: Image shows the episode artwork everywhere. Link shows the episode card on networks that take link posts, when the episode has a link.
- Caption: Custom, for example
New episode: {{title}} {{link}}. Episode descriptions are often long. - Attach Link to Caption: Not Link Posts Only adds the episode link to artwork posts.

If it doesn't work#

Can it post the audio, or an audiogram?
No. Posts share the episode's artwork, text and link. Upload a video or audiogram in the post editor to publish it natively.
I host my podcast on another platform. Which link do I use?
If the show is on Apple Podcasts, use its Apple Podcasts link here. If it isn't, use your host's RSS feed in an RSS automation.
