Find your best times to post

Hero_Agent can show which days and hours worked best for your posts, from your own results. Ask it on Home, or from a connected AI tool, then pick your post times with that in mind.

How it works#

Heropost looks at how your own posts did, and finds the days and hours when they got the most engagement. It's based on your results, not on general advice, so it gets better the more you post.

  • What it looks at: the posts in this workspace from the last 90 days that have results in Analytics. Those come from Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn Pages, Threads and YouTube. Posts to other networks have no results, so they don't count.
  • How it ranks times: posts are grouped by weekday and hour, in the workspace's time zone. Each slot is ranked by its average engagement per post: reactions, comments and shares added together, with views as a tie-breaker. A post sent to several networks counts once.
  • How much it needs: at least 10 posts with results, and at least 2 posts in a slot for that slot to count. It shows your 10 best slots.

There's no best-times view on the Analytics page or in the post editor. You ask Hero_Agent, or a connected AI tool.

See your best times#

  1. Open Home.
  2. Ask Hero_Agent, for example: "What are my best times to post?" or "When should I post on Instagram?"
  3. Hero_Agent answers with a Best times to post card, and explains what it found.

How to read the card:

  • Columns are the days, Mon to Sun. Rows are times of day: Morning (6:00 to 12:00), Afternoon (12:00 to 18:00), Evening (18:00 to midnight) and Night (midnight to 6:00).
  • Darker cells did better. Hover over a cell for its average, for example "Evening Tue: 42 avg engagements".
  • Faded cells ("No posts") have no result to show: you posted there less than twice, or it isn't among your best times.
  • The time zone is shown at the top. It's the workspace's, the same one your posts are scheduled in.

Asking costs no AI action: reading analytics is free. Each message to Hero_Agent counts toward your monthly Hero_Agent messages. See AI actions: what counts and your monthly allowance.

Use them when you schedule#

  • In the post editor, pick the day and time yourself under Schedule. The date picker doesn't suggest times.
  • With Hero_Agent, ask it to schedule a draft at one of your best times, for example "Schedule my Friday post at my best time that day." On a draft card in the chat, Schedule asks Hero_Agent for the best slot this week when the draft has no date yet. Either way, it shows you the time and waits for Approve.
  • Planning a week: ask Hero_Agent to spread the posts over your best times. See Let Hero_Agent plan your first week.

From your AI tools#

Connected AI tools, such as ChatGPT or Claude, can ask Heropost for the same data: up to 10 slots with the weekday, hour, number of posts, and average engagements and views. Ask "What are my best times to post?" in the tool. See Use Heropost from your AI tools and the tool reference.

If it doesn't work#

What you see What it means What to do
"Not enough posting history yet — publish more and this fills in." Fewer than 10 posts with results in the last 90 days. Keep posting on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn Pages, Threads or YouTube, and ask again in a few weeks.
The card is mostly faded Few slots have 2 posts or more. Post at a few different times more than once, so there's something to compare.
You post a lot, but there's never enough data Your posts go to networks without results (X, TikTok, Pinterest, Google Business Profile, Reddit, Telegram, Bluesky, LinkedIn profiles). Best times can only use networks that report results. See Analytics.
An AI tool says "Analytics on this workspace's plan cover the last {N} days." Your plan keeps a shorter analytics history than the 90 days best times look at. Ask for a shorter period. Some older plans keep only a few days, which is rarely enough.
"Hero_Agent chat isn't part of the plan on this workspace. …" The workspace owner has no active plan. The owner picks a plan: click your name at the bottom of the left menu, then Billing. See AI plans.
"That's all {N} Hero_Agent chat turns for this month — they reset on {date}. …" This month's Hero_Agent messages are used up. Wait for the date shown, or raise your Hero_Agent plan. Connected AI tools still work.

Questions#

Are these general best times for each network?

No. They come only from your own posts and results in this workspace. What works for your audience can be quite different from general advice.

Can I see best times for one network?

Yes. Ask for it, for example "Best times to post on LinkedIn?" Hero_Agent then looks only at that network.

Which time zone are the times in?

The workspace's time zone, shown on the card. It's the same one the post editor uses. See Workspaces.

Can Heropost post at my best times automatically?

Not by itself: you choose each post's time, or approve the time Hero_Agent suggests. There's no automatic time-slot queue.
