Where: Hero_Photo → + Train a subject, or the You, Model or Product chip under Subject → + Train new…
What a subject is#
A subject is someone or something Hero_Photo should put in your pictures exactly as they are: you, a model, your product, or your brand's look. You add it once, then pick it under Subject whenever you make a picture. Presets that need a person or a product use your saved ones.
"Subjects stay private to this workspace. Hero_Agent can use them too."
| Subject | What it's for | What you give it | Cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| You | "Put yourself in any shot — headshots, lifestyle, your product in your hands." | 5 to 20 photos of you | See Add yourself |
| Model | "A consistent model for your brand — pick a ready-made one, design one, or use photos of a real model (with their permission)." | Pick one, design one, or 5 to 20 photos | Ready-made: free. Designing: 8 credits for each round of four faces. |
| Product | "Your product, true to life, in any scene — worn, held or on a table." | 1 to 5 photos, or a link to its product page | Free, ready right away |
| Brand | "Your logo, colours, fonts and look — so every image is on-brand." | Your website, or your logo, colors, fonts and brand photos | Free |
Add a product#
- Press + Train a subject → Product.
- Choose where the photos come from: Upload photos (1 to 5 angles on a clean background), From Shopify, or Product link.
- For From Shopify or Product link, paste the product page's address and press Import. Heropost takes the product's photos and name from the page; your store isn't connected. Remove any photo that isn't this product.
- Press Continue.
- Fill in Name (for example "Classic Sneaker — White"), Type and, if you like, Keep exactly (optional), for example "logo on the side, gum sole, matte finish".
- Press Save product. It's ready right away, under Product, Try-on and Hold product.
Good product photos: front, side and details. Avoid other products, glare and hard shadows, and screenshots.
Add yourself#
- Press + Train a subject → You.
- Drop 5 to 20 photos of yourself, or click to pick them. Each photo is checked as you add it (table below).
- Watch the meter: 5 good photos to start, 8 or more for a closer likeness, 12 is best (8 close-ups and 4 full-length).
- Press Continue.
- Fill in Name and This is a (Man, Woman or Person). Appearance (age, hair, eyes) and Anything to keep exactly? (optional), such as "beard, glasses, tattoo on left arm", help keep the likeness.
- Tick the consent box (see Consent and privacy).
- Read the box above the button, then press the button.
| Mark | Meaning |
|---|---|
| ✓ | A good photo |
| ! Blurry or Low resolution | Used, but not counted as a good photo |
| ✕ Duplicate, Too small or Unreadable | Not used |
What works: a clear face, half-body and full-length shots, different outfits and places. Avoid sunglasses and hats, other people, filters, blurry photos and the same outfit every time. Sharpness, size and duplicates are checked automatically; the rest is up to you.
What happens when you press the button depends on what the box above it says:
| The box says | The button | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| "Ready right away. Hero_Photo uses these photos to keep the likeness." | Save | You're saved at once, and Hero_Photo uses your photos as a reference in each picture. Free. |
| "Training takes about 15 minutes · uses {n} photo credits. Keep working — we’ll tell you when it’s ready, with 8 starter photos on the house." | Start training | Hero_Photo trains a likeness of you. The credits are used when training starts and come back if it fails. When it's ready, Heropost says "{name} is ready — 8 starter photos are in Create." The free starter photos stay at the top of Create for 3 days. |
While a likeness trains, your chip shows a progress ring. If training fails, the chip offers ↻ Retry training. If a trained likeness lapses, your photos are used as references until you choose ↻ Refresh likeness. Each shows its credit cost.
Add a model#
Three ways, under + Train a subject → Model:
- Ready-made: pick Elena, Maya, Daniel, Priya, Kenji, Linda, Mateo, Layla or Jalen, then Use {name}. "Made by Hero_Photo — not real people, so there’s nothing to consent to. They’re the same models you see in the preset previews." Free.
- Design a model: choose gender, age, style and skin tone, then Show me 4 faces. A round of four faces uses 8 credits, and the faces also land in your library. Pick one, name it, and press Lock this model, or Show me 4 more. "Don’t design a lookalike of a real person."
- From photos of a real model: the same steps as Add yourself, with 5 to 20 photos of the model and the model consent box. Use this to add a teammate.
Set up your brand#
+ Train a subject → Brand opens the brand kit: import from your website, then check your logo, colors, fonts, brand photos and look words, and press Save brand kit. Your brand photos and look words become the Brand subject, used as a style reference. Only owners and Admins can change the brand kit, and it's on a computer or tablet only. Full steps: Teach Hero_Agent your brand.
Use a subject#
- Under Subject, click a chip to pick that type; it selects your newest saved one. Click the chip again to choose another from the list.
- Brand uses your brand look as a style reference. You, Model and Product put that subject in the picture.
- Using a preset that needs a product or a person you haven't added opens Train a subject on the right type.
- Hero_Agent can use your subjects too, for example "Make a photo of me holding our new mug". It can also save a product from photos already in your Media Library.
Delete a subject#
- Click the subject's chip under Subject, then Delete {name}….
- Read the message, then press Delete.
- A person (you or a model): "Their photos and trained likeness are deleted for good, and Hero_Photo stops using them. Images you already made stay in your library. This can’t be undone."
- A product or brand look: "It will be removed from Hero_Photo. Images you already made stay in your library. This can’t be undone."
- A picture still being made with that subject stops, and its credits come back.
Consent and privacy#
To save a person, you tick one of these boxes. It links to the Likeness terms.
- You: "These are photos of me. I’m 18 or older and not a politically exposed person. Heropost doesn’t verify this — I’m responsible for it. I agree to the Likeness terms."
- A real model: "I have this person’s explicit written consent to create AI images of them. They’re 18 or older and not a politically exposed person or public figure. Heropost doesn’t verify this — I’m responsible for it. I agree to the Likeness terms."
Subjects stay private to the workspace they're saved in. Deleting a person deletes their photos for good.

Questions#
Can I add a teammate?
Yes. Add them as a Model from their photos, with their explicit written consent. Training You is only for the account owner.
Is adding a product free?
Yes. Products, ready-made models and the brand kit are free. You pay only for the pictures you make.
Can other workspaces see my subjects?
No. Subjects stay private to the workspace they're saved in. To use one in another workspace, add it there too.
What happens to pictures I made if I delete a subject?
They stay in your library and in any posts that use them.
Can I use a photo of a celebrity or a public figure?
No. The consent box for a real model confirms they're not a public figure, and designed models must not look like a real person.
