Remove an account

Delete a social account from a workspace. Its drafts, scheduled posts and automations stop using it, it no longer counts toward your plan, and posts already published stay on the network.

What removing an account does#

Removing an account takes it out of the current workspace only. If the same Page or profile is connected in another workspace, it stays there.

What happens
Drafts The account is unticked.
Scheduled posts The account is unticked, so nothing more is published to it. If it was the only account ticked for that network in a post, that network is switched off for the post. If no network is left, the scheduled post is deleted.
Automations The account is taken out of every automation.
Published posts Nothing changes. They stay on the network.
Your plan The account no longer counts toward your plan's number of accounts.
The network Heropost keeps the access you gave it on the network's side. To withdraw it too, remove Heropost in that network's app settings once you no longer use the account in any workspace.

Remove an account#

  1. Click your workspace name at the top of Heropost, then Accounts.
  2. Open the ⋮ menu on the account's card and choose Delete.
  3. Delete Account? asks: "Are you sure you want to delete {account}? This account will be deleted from the Platform and any scheduled posts will NOT be published to it."
  4. Press Delete. Heropost shows Account deleted successfully.

Accounts are removed one at a time. Only the workspace owner and Admins can remove accounts.

Before you remove an account#

  • Check your scheduled posts. Posts that used only this account for a network lose that network. Open the calendar if you want to move them to another account first.
  • Want to stop posting for a while instead? Untick the account in your posts, Post Groups and automations. Removing it also takes it off every draft and scheduled post.
  • Fixing a broken connection? Use Reconnect instead. It keeps everything in place.

Move an account to another workspace#

There's no move button. Do it in two steps:

  1. Switch to the other workspace and connect the account there.
  2. Switch back and remove it from the first workspace.

Posts don't move with the account. They stay in the workspace where you made them.

Add a removed account back#

Connect it again in the same workspace: click your workspace name at the top of Heropost, then Accounts, then Add Profile. Heropost restores the same account and clears any pause. It's ticked again on drafts that post to that network, but not on scheduled posts, so add it to those by hand.

Adding back an X account you removed from the same workspace doesn't need X credits.

If it doesn't work#

What you see What it means What to do
"Failed to delete the account. Please try again or contact support." The account couldn't be removed. The usual reason is that your role in this workspace doesn't allow it. Ask the workspace owner or an Admin to remove it. If you are one, try again, then contact support.
"Please select accounts for {network}" when you schedule a draft The draft used only the removed account for that network. Tick another account for that network, or switch the network off for the post.

Questions#

Will removing an account delete my posts on Facebook, Instagram or the other networks?

No. Posts already published stay on the network. Heropost only stops publishing to the account.

Does removing an account free up a slot on my plan?

Yes. Removed accounts don't count toward your plan's limit, so you can connect another one.

Can I remove several accounts at once?

No. Remove them one at a time from each account's ⋮ menu.

Can I undo a removal?

Connect the account again in the same workspace. It comes back on your drafts, but you need to add it to scheduled posts again.

What about a whole workspace?

Deleting a workspace removes all its accounts, posts and automations at once. See Workspaces.
